The answer depends on your nationality, but don’t worry—getting a Vietnam visa is much easier than many travelers expect.

Do You Need a Visa for Vietnam?
Every country has different entry requirements.
Some passport holders can enter Vietnam without a visa for a limited number of days, while others need to apply for a visa before arriving.

The Vietnam e-Visa
For most international visitors, the Vietnam e-Visa is the simplest option.
The entire application can be completed online before your trip. Once approved, you’ll receive your visa electronically and simply present it when entering Vietnam.
To apply, you’ll usually need:
- A passport valid for at least six months
- A recent passport-style photo
- A clear image of your passport information page
- A payment card
Take your time when filling out the application. Double-check every detail, especially your name, passport number, and intended arrival date. Even a small mistake can cause unnecessary delays.
When Should You Apply?
While many travelers receive their visa within a few working days, processing times are not guaranteed.
Our recommendation is simple:
Apply at least two weeks before your flight.
This gives you enough time in case additional information is requested or public holidays affect processing.
Avoid leaving your application until the last minute—it is one of the easiest parts of planning your trip, and getting it done early means one less thing to worry about.
Flying to Vietnam
Most of our guests arrive at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, which is the main gateway to northern Vietnam.
